Hi, I’m Julianne Taylor — wildlife biologist, homeschooling mama, and creator of Somewhat Wild Life.

For over a decade, I worked in wildlife conservation, research, and education. I’ve worked with state and federal agencies, zoos, aquariums, and communities to solve real-world problems in human-wildlife relationships.

But something shifted when I became a parent and began sharing nature with my kids. I realized that the wildest adventures aren’t always found in remote forests — they’re in our own backyards, sidewalks, and neighborhood creeks. And the next generation doesn’t just need science facts; they need wonder, curiosity, and connection.

Now, I design playful, place-based nature and ecology curriculum to help families, educators, and communities explore the wild wherever they are.
